Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and Handymen Network LLC ("Handymen Network," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website at handymennetwork.com, our mobile application, or any related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Platform description
Handymen Network is a technology platform that connects customers ("Customers") seeking home repair and maintenance services with independent handyman professionals ("Handymen" or "Pros"). Handymen Network does not itself provide handyman services, construction services, or any home repair work. We are not a contractor, general contractor, or employer. All services are performed by independent Handymen who use the Platform to connect with Customers.
2. Independent contractor relationship
Handymen registered on the Platform are independent contractors and are not employees, agents, partners, or joint venturers of Handymen Network. We do not control, direct, or supervise how Handymen perform their work. The service contract for any repair or maintenance job is solely between the Customer and the Handyman. Handymen Network is not a party to that agreement except to facilitate payment processing and communication through the Platform.
3. User accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as needed.
4. Customer terms
4a. Booking and payment
When you book a service through the Platform, you agree to pay the listed menu price plus any applicable taxes or fees shown at checkout. Payment is collected at the time of booking via our secure payment processor. The price displayed on the menu is the price for the described scope of work — no additional charges will be applied without your prior consent.
4b. Cancellation
You may cancel a booking before the assigned Handyman is en route for a full refund. If the Handyman is already traveling to your location, a dispatch fee may be retained. Specific cancellation terms are displayed at checkout and in your order confirmation.
4c. Property access and safety
By booking a service, you authorize the assigned Handyman to access the property at the address you provide for the purpose of completing the requested work. An adult (18+) must be present or access must be arranged and confirmed in your booking notes.
5. Handyman terms
5a. Vetting and approval
Handymen must complete our vetting process before receiving job offers. This includes identity verification, background check clearance, proof of current general liability insurance, surety bond where required by law, and skill qualification for applicable menu categories. Handymen Network reserves the right to approve, deny, or revoke platform access at its sole discretion.
5b. Insurance and bonding requirements
Handymen must maintain current general liability insurance with coverage adequate for residential repair work at all times while active on the Platform. Where required by state or local law, a surety bond and/or workers' compensation coverage must also be maintained. Insurance documentation is verified during onboarding and periodically re-verified. If coverage lapses, the Handyman is automatically suspended from receiving job offers until proof of renewed coverage is provided.
5c. Service standards
Handymen agree to perform all work in a professional, workmanlike manner consistent with industry standards. Handymen are solely responsible for the quality, safety, and legal compliance of their work, including obtaining any permits required by local jurisdiction.
5d. Platform fees
Handymen Network retains a service fee from each completed job. Fee details are disclosed in the Handyman Agreement provided during onboarding.
6. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, HANDYMEN NETWORK AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM OR ANY SERVICES OBTAINED THROUGH IT.
Handymen Network's aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100) or (b) the total amount paid by you through the Platform in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Because Handymen Network does not perform the physical services (Handymen do), liability for property damage, personal injury, or workmanship issues arising from a service is the sole responsibility of the Handyman who performed the work and is covered under the Handyman's required insurance policy.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE PLATFORM AND ALL SERVICES OBTAINED THROUGH IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. HANDYMEN NETWORK DOES NOT WARRANT THE QUALITY, SAFETY, LEGALITY, OR TIMELINESS OF SERVICES PROVIDED BY HANDYMEN, NOR THE ACCURACY OF ANY HANDYMAN'S QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSING, INSURANCE STATUS, OR PROFILE INFORMATION.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Handymen Network and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these Terms or applicable law; (c) any dispute between a Customer and a Handyman; or (d) any property damage, personal injury, or other claim arising from services performed by a Handyman.
9. Release
Customers and Handymen each agree to release Handymen Network from any and all claims, liabilities, and damages arising out of or in any way connected with any dispute between a Customer and a Handyman, including any injury, death, property damage, or other loss arising from services provided by a Handyman. You expressly waive any claims against Handymen Network for acts, errors, omissions, or negligence of any Handyman or Customer.
10. Dispute resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the state where Handymen Network is registered. You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class action. You waive the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
11. Intellectual property
All content on the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, software, and design — is the property of Handymen Network or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
12. Account termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time through account settings or by contacting us. Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred prior to termination, including payment obligations and indemnification duties.
13. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
